Science popularization

On March 14 and 16, doctoral students from our group (Magdalena Dudek, Zuzanna Korczak and Wojciech Piotrowski) gave a popular science lecture for high school students at the DON BOSCO Salesian School and for students as part of the Intellect Academy meetings at CODA Maciejówka.
The doctoral students told what light is, what the range of electromagnetic radiation is, what luminescence is (and its different types-photoluminescence, chemiluminescence together with examples from everyday life), what the difference between Stokes emission and anti-Stokes emission is. The doctoral students also prepared a few luminescence experiments using a UV lamp and lasers in the visible and infrared light range.
